Occupational Therapist Job in Austin, TX

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday with rotating weekend coverage every 3 to 4 weekends. There are no call requirements for this role.

About the Role

You'll provide occupational therapy services in an acute care cardiac setting, supporting patients undergoing open heart procedures, TAVR, and LVAD implants. You may be the only occupational therapist on duty during weekend shifts, requiring independent judgment and strong time management. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with hospitalists, case managers, and nursing staff throughout each day using the iMobile communication system. Acute care experience is preferred, and prior ICU or CCU experience is a plus. Wound care knowledge is valued but not required.

Practical Details

This is a 5x8 day schedule. You'll receive weekly pay of $2,044. The assignment runs for 91 days, with a start date of June 15, 2026. Dress code requires Caribbean blue or khaki bottoms paired with a navy polo shirt.
