Telemetry RN Job in Chesapeake, VA

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position on a 30-bed Med-Surg Tele/Neuro/Stroke unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting July 20, 2026, with 4x12 night shifts at $2,937.60 weekly pay.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric populations with a patient ratio of 1:7
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmia interpretation and response
• Perform IV starts, central line blood draws, and peripheral/PICC line management
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Administer blood products, heparin, insulin, and manage PCA pumps
• Provide pre/post hemodialysis and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Document in EPIC with proficiency required
• Float within the unit as needed; every-other-weekend schedule required with holiday coverage

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in Virginia or compact state (in hand at submittal)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification
• EKG competency: must score 80% or higher on assessment (one attempt only, no remediation)
• Prior acute-care experience with neurology and stroke patients
• Permanent address greater than 50 miles from facility

Additional Clinical Skills:Port access and management, blood product administration, chest tube management, colostomy and ileostomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, isolation precautions and PPE, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, phlebotomy, renal failure management, traumatic brain injury care, and wound care including wound vacs.

Support Services:IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support are available.
