Physical Therapist Acute Care Job in Rockville, MD

You will provide physical therapy services in an acute care hospital setting, working with adult and geriatric patient populations at AHC Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Maryland. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a 5x8 day shift schedule, paying $2,160 weekly.

Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting gait training and extremity mobilization for patients in acute recovery
• Treating conditions including post-operative rehabilitation, total hip and knee replacements, post-stroke recovery, multiple sclerosis, COPD, CHF, dementia, and spinal conditions
• Assisting patients with mobility using rolling walkers, crutches, sliding boards, sit-to-stand lifts, and lower extremity prosthetics
• Developing plans of care, setting functional goals, and educating patients and families
• Working across orthopedic, neurological, and oncological patient populations
• Documenting in the Cerner charting system

What you bring:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care physical therapy experience
• Valid state physical therapy license at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in acute care practices and assistive device management
• Preferred experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Two supervisor references required
