Certified Surgical Technologist Surgical Assistant in Cleveland, OH

Cleveland Medical Center seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to serve as a Surgical Assistant in cardiothoracic surgery. You will work under the direction of attending physicians, providing essential intraoperative support across a range of cardiac surgical cases and procedures.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide first and/or second assist during cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve repair and replacement, heart transplant, robotic surgery, and structural heart interventions
• Facilitate exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other technical intraoperative functions
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to support surgical patients throughout the perioperative period
• Support cardiac surgery cases across the system both in and out of the operating room, including emergency procedures within the hospital and interventions in the cardiac cath lab
• Cover regional call to support the Cardiac Surgery program across the health system, with travel requirements via car, ambulance, plane, and helicopter for transplant cases (both donor and recipient)
• Participate in a variety of procedures including hybrid structural and aortic interventions

What You Bring

• Graduation from an approved Surgical Assistant program
• Less than 1 year of experience taking second call for the cardiac service line
• National certification from NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA preferred

Position Details

This 90-day travel assignment offers a 5x8 day shift schedule with weekly compensation of $2,480. Your start date is November 16, 2026.
