MRI Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist for a pediatric MRI position in Rochester, NY. You will work Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM EST with no on-call responsibilities. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment efficiently and prepare pediatric patients from neonates through age 18 for scans, ensuring comfort and age-appropriate care throughout procedures
• Screen and prepare patients while identifying contraindications for safe scanning
• Adjust scanning parameters to accommodate different patient ages and clinical needs
• Insert IVs when necessary for contrast studies and diagnostic procedures
• Coordinate with physicians to provide timely diagnostic imaging and ensure results are communicated appropriately
• Independently assess when a scan must be stopped due to patient motion and determine if sedation or anesthesia is needed
• Maintain a clean, safe scanning facility and adhere to all MRI safety policies and guidelines
• Document all procedures accurately while maintaining strict patient confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience
• Minimum 6 months of pediatric MRI experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Siemens scanner experience
• ARRT certification
• NYS Radiology Technologist License required prior to start date
• BLS certification through American Heart Association
