Join Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in New Albany, IN as a Registered Nurse in our Neurology unit. This is a 12-hour night shift position (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM) available for an 89-week assignment beginning October 5, 2026. You will earn $2,152 weekly.

In this role, you will deliver evidence-based nursing care grounded in professional standards, current research, and hospital policies. You'll apply the full nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and clinical judgment to guide your decisions.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments aligned with RN scope of practice and document findings thoroughly
  • Collect both objective and subjective data, identifying patient risk factors and presenting complaints
  • Develop and prioritize patient problem lists in collaboration with the interprofessional care team
  • Work with patients and families to establish desired outcomes consistent with the medical plan of care
  • Educate patients and families about procedures, treatments, and care processes in clear, understandable language
  • Monitor, recognize, and communicate changes in patient condition promptly and appropriately
  • Conduct ongoing assessments following procedures and therapies, documenting responses accurately
  • Manage care for multiple patients by setting priorities based on acuity and organizing your workload effectively
  • Delegate tasks to team members and oversee performance of patient care activities
  • Facilitate timely discharge by executing orders and coordinating with Case Management
  • Participate actively in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
  • Foster a positive, healing environment through professional communication and collaborative teamwork
