Med Surg RN Job in Wheeling, WV

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 30-bed Med Surg unit at WVU Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 4, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3x12 rotating day/night shifts
• Weekends scheduled as needed; typically 1 out of every 2 weekends
• No standby or call requirement
• Weekly pay: $2,229.12

Unit Details

• Patient ratio of 1:6/7 (you must be comfortable with ratios up to 1:7)
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available on the unit
• Charge RN on the floor with assignment
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
• You will titrate heparin drips based on APTT results
• Telemetry monitored remotely by monitor technicians
• Intermittent BIPAP equipment used (no ventilators)

• Charting: EPIC
• Scheduling: QGenda
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• Travelers are first to float based on census needs
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
