Medical Lab Technician Job in Pontiac, MI

McLaren Oakland is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a 56-week travel assignment in Pontiac, MI. You will work the night shift, 3 days per week on a 12-hour schedule, with every other weekend required. No on-call responsibilities.

About the Role

As a Medical Lab Technician, you will perform essential laboratory analyses and testing to support patient care. Your responsibilities include:

• Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components
• Count and identify blood cells using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment including analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed
• Maintain laboratory supplies inventory and manage the ordering process
• Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
• Work in compliance with all established QA/QI standards
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies
• Recognize problems, identify causes, and implement appropriate solutions

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Lab Technician
• Blood bank experience required
• ASCP certification required
• BLS certification required
• Travel experience preferred

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay: $1,450. Assignment start date: October 5, 2026.
