Opportunity:

Medical Technologist - Medical Lab Scientist (MLS)

Job Details:

• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• No weekend requirements
• Holiday rotation as needed
• No float, on-call, or call back requirements
• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures with accuracy and precision following standard procedures
• Review and evaluate accuracy of lab data and report patient results with required documentation
• Perform, record, and evaluate quality control data according to procedures including checking expiration dates
• Perform and document required maintenance procedures for laboratory instruments and equipment
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot according to protocol
• Work independently within established guidelines, applying problem-solving skills to meet deadlines and urgent patient needs
• Review and suggest revisions for test procedures and participate in evaluations of new tests or instruments
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate pertinent information to staff, management, and medical directors
• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Basic Science required
• Minimum 1 year of blood bank experience required
• Required certification: American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or American Board of Histocompatibility or Immunogenetics (ABHI)
• Must qualify as Testing Personnel for high complexity testing under CLIA
• Galaxy Blue Scrubs required
