Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 44-bed acute medical-surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. This is a 119-day travel assignment starting April 27, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,102.40.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks

Your Role

You'll care for patients with a ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6 on both day and night shifts. You'll work alongside a team of 40 staff members and collaborate with certified nursing assistants at ratios of 1:8, typically 1:10. Your responsibilities include using the MEDITECH electronic medical records system, monitoring telemetry (managed on a separate unit), and floating to all acute care units, cardiology for medical patients, and the emergency department for acute care patient holds as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in medical-surgical nursing
• BLS (AHA) certification
• NIHSS (AHA) certification
• Current RN license
• Must live within 75-mile radius of the hospital based on driver's license address

Orientation and Dress Code

You'll receive a 1-week general orientation that includes EMR training, followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation to familiarize you with unit protocols and workflows. The unit requires Caribbean blue scrubs as your dress code.
