CVOR Technologist Job in Waterbury, CT

Waterbury Hospital is seeking an experienced CVOR Technologist to join the Surgical Services team. This is a travel position running 91 days, starting December 7, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: 5x8 days (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM) or 4x10 (6:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
• Call coverage required Monday–Friday (3:15 PM – 7:00 AM) and full 24-hour weekend coverage
• Every other weekend required
• Two techs rotate call based on preference
• Weekly pay: $2,689

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of surgical tech experience (candidates with 2–3 years of strong experience considered)
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Charge tech experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required

Clinical Competencies

You will support a wide range of surgical procedures in a high-volume setting: CVOR, CABG, TAVR, robotic surgeries, orthopedic, neurosurgical, vascular, general, gynecologic, thoracic, and endoscopic cases. You will maintain a 1:1 patient ratio and work in an environment serving 25 adult patients across 17 operating rooms daily.

Systems and Documentation

• Medication systems: Accudose and Omnicell
• Electronic health record: Cerner (experience required)
• Communication protocol: SBAR
