PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with fast-paced, high patient turnover
• Patient ratio typically 1:4
• Conditions treated include post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass
• Must be able to pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience required (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
• At least one prior travel assignment must be completed
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
