CT Technologist Job in Rockford, IL

Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center – Riverside in Rockford, IL is seeking a CT Technologist for night shift work. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 6, 2026, offering 36 hours per week at $2,841 weekly pay.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform computed tomography procedures and related diagnostic imaging techniques
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Perform diagnostic CT procedures as your primary responsibility
• If assigned radiographer duties, perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams
• Correlate patient clinical history with procedure and ensure documentation is available for radiologist review
• Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions, gaining cooperation, and minimizing anxiety
• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories
• Position patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability, comfort, and immobilization needs
• Practice aseptic technique as necessary
• Prepare and administer contrast media; start and maintain intravenous access
• Initiate basic life support when necessary
• Provide patient education and practical instruction for students and partners
• Contribute to supply and equipment decisions and maintain inventory control for your assigned area
• Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers
• Apply patient safety principles during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients

Required qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program (education verification required)
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience
• ARRT Radiography registration
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation
• Current CPR or BLS certification

You may be required to alternate shifts, weekends, and holidays, or take call. Flexibility to work overtime as needed to provide quality patient care is expected.
