ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in a 101-bed Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a travel position with a 91-day duration, starting April 27, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (8:45 AM–9:15 PM)
• $1,918.44 weekly pay
• Every other weekend required; schedule follows department needs and does not support block scheduling

Your Role

• Float within all sections of the Emergency Department
• Typical patient ratios: 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Document in Cerner; use Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Maintain patient boards, keep patients informed throughout their visit
• Follow AIDET principles and uphold patient experience standards
• Work collaboratively with the team; coach and provide real-time feedback to colleagues

Requirements Before Start

• Current RN degree
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in ER
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
• High-volume ED experience (>100,000 annual visits)
• Previous HCA healthcare system experience

Orientation & Expectations

• 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour floor shift
• Dress code: all navy, all white, or navy and white combination scrubs
• Tobacco use prohibited on all campus properties, including parking areas
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED is required
