NICU Registered Nurse Job in Brownwood, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the NICU at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood, caring for neonates 32 weeks and up in a Level II special care nursery. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 18, 2026, with 4x12-hour night shifts on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Compensation & Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,799.36
• Night shift hours with patient ratio of 3:1
• Two contract options available: 36 hours or 48 hours per week
• Two pre-approved time off periods allowed

Your Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neonatal care including transition of normal newborns, transitional respiratory distress, thermoregulation, and glucose control
• Work with specialized equipment including Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Panda Warmer, and Giraffe isolates

Requirements

• Current RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• Level II or III NICU experience ideal
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS
• Experience with Allscripts charting system (Altera experience preferred)
• Travel experience preferred
• Must maintain 150-mile radius from facility

Onboarding

• 36 hours of orientation required
• Complete 6-8 hours of non-billable educational modules during orientation
• Facility drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing
