ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Join Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel contract starting July 6, 2026, offering $2,300.40 per week with guaranteed 36 hours weekly.

Role Overview

You will work in an 18-bed Trauma Level II Emergency Department that is stroke certified. The unit handles cardiac, neuro, pediatric, geriatric, and respiratory cases with a 3 to 4 patient-to-nurse ratio. You will be responsible for patient care, lab draws, and nebulizer treatments. The department uses Pyxis medication dispensers and has X-ray staff and respiratory therapy available on site.

Schedule

This position involves 12-hour variable shifts. Most shifts run 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, or 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. You may occasionally work 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM or 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM shifts. PM shifts may start at 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM. Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation is required. You will also have an on-call requirement of 12 hours per 6-week period with a 30-minute response time and 2-hour minimum callback.

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (ARC or AHA)
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

You may be required to float to other Aspirus locations including Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley. You must be a hard worker who is resilient, able to manage change, work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Any color scrubs are accepted.
