Join Maluhia as a Certified Nurse Aide in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a 42-week travel position offering $2,101 per week working 5x8 rotating shifts in a long-term care setting.

Position Overview

You will provide direct personal care to patients across a range of ages and abilities. Your responsibilities include observing and reporting on patients' physical and mental symptoms, implementing care procedures, and assisting with activities of daily living. You will work as part of the treatment team to deliver quality, age-appropriate care with patience and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe and report on a variety of physical and mental symptoms and conditions for your assigned patients
  • Implement care and treatment procedures including taking vital signs, measuring output, and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as eating, feeding, providing fluids, bathing, and dressing
  • Support restorative care activities including use of assistive devices and range of motion exercises
  • Assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide direct personal care services independently
  • Apply knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, body mechanics, and first aid
  • Accurately document and report observations of patient conditions and events
  • Participate in treatment team activities

Requirements

  • Valid CNA credential
  • Minimum 6 months of work experience in a long-term care health facility
  • Previous work experience in Hawaii is a plus
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely
  • Demonstrated patience, tact, and emotional stability when working with patients with varying disabilities
  • Knowledge of basic medical and nursing terminology
