Job Details:

• Minimum 6 months of work experience in a long-term care (LTC) health facility required
• Previous work experience in Hawaii is a plus
• Observe and report on a variety of physical and/or mental symptoms and conditions for a caseload of patients
• Implement care and treatment procedures including taking vital signs, measuring output, and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
• Assist with activities of daily living including eating/feeding, providing fluids, bathing, and dressing
• Support restorative care activities including use and application of assistive devices and range of motion activities
• Assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific direct personal care services independently
• Apply knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, body mechanics, and first aid
• Assist and participate in activities of the treatment team
• Accurately document and report observations of patient conditions and series of events
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical and nursing terminology
• Knowledge of multiple and differing cultures is desirable
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions precisely
• Must demonstrate patience, tact, and even temperament when working with patients with a variety of disabilities
• Must maintain emotional stability despite emotional and physical pressures
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers certification required within 6 months of employment
