ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a travel position starting September 28, 2026, for 91 days. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, with a weekly pay of $1,885.

About the Role

You'll work in a 101-bed Emergency Department with typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. The department is equipped with Baxter pumps and GE monitors, and you'll document using the Cerner electronic health record system. Techs are available for cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage support, along with unit clerks on all shifts.

Scheduling and Expectations

This role requires every other weekend availability and flexibility to meet departmental needs. Block scheduling is not available. You will not float outside the ED, but must be open to floating to all sections within the ED. You are expected to follow AIDET patient experience standards, maintain respectful behavior, keep patient boards updated throughout each visit, and wear navy scrubs as the required uniform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a nurse with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give feedback in real time
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required at hire
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
