URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Electrophysiology Lab in Rochester, NY. This 117-day travel assignment runs from September 28, 2026, offering 12-hour shifts at $3,380 weekly.

About the Role

You will work primarily day hours with some evening and night shifts, including holiday and on-call availability as unit needs require. Your responsibilities include performing and supporting diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions, preparing patients, monitoring recordings, and assisting physicians with device implantation and pacing implementation.

Key Duties

  • Prepare patients for procedures and verify all equipment and instrumentation is operational
  • Monitor readouts and recordings during procedures; assist with lab analysis and data interpretation
  • Communicate findings and issues to physicians and specialists
  • Assist with pacing implementation and permanent cardiac device installation
  • Coordinate with charge nurses and third-party vendors to ensure team availability and scheduled procedure readiness
  • Work at the sterile field as circulator, prepping patients and equipment for studies and ablations
  • Maintain ablation catheter fluids and provide ablator assistance
  • Support anesthesia, document procedures in Epic, and provide backup pacing during implants
  • Facilitate timely room turnover and on-time procedure starts
  • Perform RF ablations, cryo ablations, and device implants including pacemakers and ICDs

Qualifications

  • Current New York state RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
  • Proficiency in moderate sedation
  • Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience preferred
  • GE system experience (MacLab & CardioLab) preferred

You will remain patient-focused while managing multiple responsibilities and collaborating with in-room staff to ensure all supplies and equipment are available.
