NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Job Details:

• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float to mother baby and pediatrics units as needed
• Every other weekend coverage required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system
• Work with neonates and infants in NICU setting
• Average daily census of 30 patients
• 46-bed unit capacity
• Must have 2 years NICU experience (3 years required if first-time traveler)
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• AHA certifications required
• Must maintain Louisiana license or compact license upon submission
• Must be over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• May be assigned to "Emergency Team" during emergency events with expectation to remain at facility
• Care for patients with prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, hypoglycemia, and feeding difficulties
• Work with specialized equipment including oscillators, bubble CPAP, and HFNC
• Perform procedures including umbilical lines, PICC placement, and lumbar puncture assistance
