ED Registered Nurse Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. You will work 4x12 hour day shifts with a rotating schedule between 9:00 AM–9:00 PM and 12:00 PM–12:00 AM, with some weekend coverage required.

You will care for both adult and pediatric patients in a 27-room emergency department with a daily census of approximately 150 patients. Your typical patient ratio will be 3–4:1 in the general emergency department. You may float between the South and Downtown ED locations, which are less than 10 minutes apart.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Texas or Compact state nursing license in hand
• ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS, BLS, and NRP (NRP may be obtained after your start date)
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Emergency medications
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Phlebotomy
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Triage

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of nursing experience
• 1 or more years of travel nursing experience
• Epic charting system experience

You will receive 12 hours of orientation. The department offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support.
