Opportunity:
Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician
Job Details:
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to prescribed protocols and guidelines
• Ensure proper dosage and injection technique to optimize imaging results
• Operate gamma cameras and other specialized imaging equipment to capture images of radioactive tracers within the patient's body
• Follow established protocols for image acquisition and processing
• Analyze nuclear medicine images to identify abnormalities or areas of interest
• Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret findings and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning
• Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures by explaining the process, obtaining medical histories, and addressing any concerns or questions
• Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout nuclear medicine procedures
• Address patient concerns or discomforts and ensure their safety and well-being during the imaging process
• Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself
• Maintain accurate records of radiation doses administered and monitor radiation levels in work areas
• Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality
• Troubleshoot technical issues as needed and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel
• Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, including patient information, radiopharmaceutical doses administered, imaging parameters, and image interpretations
• Generate accurate reports for inclusion in patient medical records
• Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology, procedures, and safety regulations through ongoing education and professional development activities
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and staff orientation activities
