Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - Med Surg Tele</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM<br>• Every other weekend required, holidays as needed<br>• First to float among Med, Surg, Tele, and Ortho units<br>• 2-day orientation provided<br>• 2 years of nursing experience required<br>• Must have Epic EMR experience<br>• Must be able to read and interpret ECG<br>• ECG exam required (pass/fail, one attempt only with study guide and session available)<br>• BLS certification required (must be AHA)<br>• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and nights<br>• 36-bed telemetry monitoring unit<br>• Dress code: Navy blue pants and solid navy blue tops<br>• Care for general medicine patients including post-operative care for GI, NGT, and surgical wounds<br>• Experience needed with joint/hip replacement patients, debridements, toe amputations, lap appy, cholecystectomies<br>• Manage PEG/tube feeding, PCA pumps, and heparin drips<br>• Must have experience with occasional trach and chest tube patients<br>• Handle hypoglycemia interventions<br>• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, SBO, PE, cellulitis, diabetes, diverticulitis, failure to thrive, infectious diseases, and sickle cell crisis<br>• No ventilators, BiPap, or cardiac drips</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This hospital operates a comprehensive medical-surgical telemetry unit that provides specialized care for a wide range of medical conditions and post-operative patients.
