Respiratory Therapist Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the Neuro Diagnostics department at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center serving a high-volume ER. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 11, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (4x12s available upon request)
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday required per 13-week contract
• Weekly pay: $2,016

Your Role

You will provide respiratory care to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with a patient ratio of 1:25. You must demonstrate critical care experience and competency in airway management, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation. You will float within your skillset as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years respiratory therapy experience
• Proficiency with ventilators: Servo I, Servo U, V-60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, iNO with iNOvent, LTV1200
• Airway management including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, and suctioning
• BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC delivery
• Aerosol and medication delivery systems: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent
• EPIC charting experience

Required Credentials

• BLS and ACLS certification
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification by NBRC—CRT not accepted
• Virginia State Board of Medicine respiratory care practitioner license

Additional Information

You will receive 36 hours of orientation. First-time travelers are accepted; 1 year of travel experience is preferred.
