PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in a 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit (CVPC) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of June 4, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3x12 nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• $2,102.40 per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period required
• Must be flexible to work holidays

Patient Care

• Care for post-operative cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), and overflow medical cardiology patients
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio
• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucometer, and cardiac drip management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)
• Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts
• Use Cerner EMR system

Floating & Unit Coverage

• Float to any stepdown unit (1:5 ratios), medical/surgical unit (1:6–7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6) as needed

Requirements

• RN degree
• Prior CV critical care experience, stepdown experience, and telemetry experience
• Preferred experience with CV surgery and vascular surgery populations within the past year
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Dress code: all navy scrubs, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
