PCU Registered Nurse Job in Carmel, IN

IU Health North Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-week travel assignment beginning June 30, 2026, on a 3x12 night shift schedule.

Role Overview

You will care for adult and geriatric patients requiring PCU level of care on a 16-bed unit serving general medical and surgical patients. Patient ratios are 1:4. You will be expected to work charge nurse shifts, typically 1–2 per week, with charge orientation provided regardless of prior charge experience. Floating within scope to Med/Surg is required as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Chest tube management
• Feeding tube care
• IV insulin protocols
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Tracheostomy care
• IV initiation and maintenance

Schedule & Requirements

Weekend coverage is required with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. You must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. A 36-hour orientation is provided.

Qualifications

• Current RN license (must be in hand prior to start date)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• 2 supervisor references required

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,099.52.
