PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:5 depending on hospital capacity and ED volume
• Epic charting system experience required
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Required to float within skillset
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• 3 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience required
• Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory support, blood product administration
• Experience required with cardiac telemetry, ER holding, and PCU
• Manage cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration, IV insulin protocol with titration
• Work in ED Transitional Care Unit with 16 beds for med/surg or PCU level patients awaiting inpatient bed assignment
• Carry out inpatient orders and complete admission databases for patient transfers
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
