ED RN Job in Springfield, MO

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a 13-week travel assignment. You will work the evening shift from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, 3 days per week on a block schedule with 36 or 48 guaranteed weekly hours as indicated on your submission form.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate care activities with ancillary departments
• Manage a typical patient ratio of 4:1, with adjustments during surge conditions
• Deliver care in a busy urban Level 1 Trauma center serving 200+ patients daily, with designated Stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center capabilities

Facility Details

The 68-bed Emergency Department uses the EPIC electronic medical record system. Weekend hours are required as needed by the facility. No call or float requirements apply. Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire first week.

Requirements

• Current Missouri RN license or ability to meet criteria for Missouri licensure
• 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility (must be indicated on resume)
• Trauma and pediatrics experience preferred; high-acuity background in high-volume settings preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC, and NIHSS (may be obtained prior to start date if not current)

Assignment Details

• Start date: July 20, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly pay: $1,971
• RTO requests must be made up on the back end and are not approved during the first week; only 1 holiday RTO per assignment
• Dress code: Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not acceptable
