PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work Monday to Friday schedule with call required 6-8 days per month (self-scheduled)
• Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract required
• 2:1 patient ratio during day shifts
• 21-bed PACU unit with daily census of 30 patients
• Must have 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac
• Experience with pediatric patients required and critical care strongly preferred
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op and float between PACU and Pre-Op Holding as needed
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
• Travel experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Care for patients of all ages from 8 months to 100+ years old
• Experience required with ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and pediatric ENT procedures
• Must have experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
• Heavy volume of orthopedic, general, gynecological, neurological, and urological cases
• Must complete on-site drug screening and have Texas nursing license active before start date
• Documentation due 3 business days prior to start date
