NICU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

CHRISTUS Children's Hospital in San Antonio is seeking an RN for its Level 4 NICU. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a weekend requirement of four weekends per six weeks, including two Mondays and two Fridays.

In this role, you'll provide routine and complex nursing care to neonates ranging from feeder growers to critically ill patients. Your responsibilities include:

• Deliver direct patient care with ratios of 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4, with CNA support available for 1:4 assignments
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education

Required Qualifications:

• RN license in the state of Texas or compact license
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• STABLE certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• At least one year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal setting experience

You'll be required to complete New Nurses Orientation within your first 30 days and complete all competency validations. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 22, 2026, with weekly compensation of $1,971.
