PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You are an RN joining a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit in K Tower at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026, with a shift of 3x12 nights (6:45 PM–7:15 AM). Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Your Role

You will provide care to patients requiring progressive care with neuro and trauma focus. Patient ratios are 4:1 at grid or 5:1 when stretched. You will float to step-down and med-surg units as needed and work every other weekend.

Required Certifications and Experience

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated neuro and trauma care experience

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, trachs, lumbar drains, and feeding tubes
• Monitor and operate PCA pumps and IV infusions
• Administer blood transfusions
• Operate IV pumps, Skylift, patient lifts, and other bedside equipment

Work Environment

You will work alongside charge nurses, RNs, CNAs, and HUC staff. The unit uses the Cerner electronic medical record system. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs. You are expected to be a team player with a patient-focused approach.
