RN - Pediatrics CVICU

Job Details:

• Must have CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting
• Required to float to PICU, NICU, and Stepdown units
• Must commit to 4 weekend shift coverage within a 4-week scheduling block
• Day shift weekend shifts consist of Saturdays and Sundays
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary
• Administers medications as prescribed
• Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Delivers competent patient care across a variety of health conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge
• Informs patients and families of hospital procedures
• Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
