About this role
URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an X-Ray Technician for a 12-hour shift role in their general radiography department. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,702.70.
Schedule: You will work Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. On-call responsibilities include 2–3 call shifts per month with callback and holiday coverage as needed. You must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.
Core Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures
- Use x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images of bones, tissues, and organs per written orders
- Explain procedures to patients and answer their questions
- Position patients appropriately, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility
- Handle all radiologic equipment safely while keeping patient dose as low as possible
- Observe patient status and interpret information to meet age-specific needs
- Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation
- Verify patient information and practice dual patient identifier procedures using electronic systems
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are sent to PACS correctly
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Current ARRT certification
- New York State license or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Minimum 2 years of x-ray technologist experience
- Level 1 trauma center experience required
- Recent operating room experience at a trauma center required
- C-arm/O-arm experience within the past 8 months
- BLS certification from American Heart Association only
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients
