Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Primarily 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with one 8-hour shift on Fridays to complete an 80-hour pay period
• On-call required on Friday nights from 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Candidates must be located more than 75 miles from the facility
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• New York state license required prior to submission
• Floating required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Community hospital experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT
• Manage respiratory conditions including emphysema, asthma, and other respiratory disease processes
• Perform non-invasive ventilation, high flow oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, ABG draws and analysis, and chest physiotherapy
• Stabilize invasive ventilation cases in the emergency room prior to transfer
• Treat patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required ventilator experience: Servo I and LTV 1200
• Preferred equipment experience: Phillips V60 BiPAP, BiPAP Vision, and Teleflex High Flow Nasal Cannulas
• Required skills include: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, Extubation, Nasal and Oral airway placement and suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy care/management, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation, and Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Medication experience required includes: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
