Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12 day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Minimum 3 weekends required per 6-week period
• Possibility of being placed on call depending on unit and hospital needs
• Possibility of being floated depending on unit and hospital needs
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Telemetry experience required; ambulatory and Med/Surg experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working with pediatric population
• 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
• PALS certificate required before start date
• Scrub color: Any color - professional appearance required
• Charting system: Meditech
• Key skills include telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, heparin management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, and management of patients with chest pain, CHF, COPD, CVA/TIA, sepsis, and surgical cases
• Responsible for primary nursing including vitals and phlebotomy
• Must coordinate with techs throughout the shift as techs float often
• Special equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, bladder scanner, vein finder, and telemetry
