Opportunity:

Sonographer - Cardiac Sonographer

Job Details:

• Perform high quality diagnostic exams and procedures in the Ultrasound department according to physician orders
• Complete studies in a timely and efficient manner, utilizing downtime to assist others as needed
• Check exam charges and 5-day late list daily for the ultrasound department
• Organize workload during high volume periods to expedite patient care and communicate pending exams and pertinent information to other technologists
• Assist physicians in performing radiology procedures
• Maintain supplies with minimum inventory and develop new methods of supply utilization
• Handle equipment safely and appropriately per department guidelines and policies
• Maintain clean work area, follow equipment cleaning policies, and wipe down exterior surfaces of machines after each workday and between patients
• Follow on-call policy by responding to callback within acceptable timeframe and arriving in department within 30 minutes of being called in
• Willingly assist with procedures in any area of radiology when needed
• On-call schedule includes 1 weekday night and every Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Current equipment includes 3 Philips CVX Epiq machines, 1 Philips Elite Epiq machine, and Vasculab ABI machine
• Must be able to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast
• Must be able to perform Echo and Vascular studies including TTE Echocardiograms, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler, arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, Thrombin injections, and vein mapping exams
• Must be able to start own IV
• MediTech experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Registered Echo/Vascular Sonographer required
• Required certifications: ARDMS, BLS (AHA)
• Must adhere to dress code and appearance policy
• Participate in required hospital and department in-services and meetings
• Follow safety and infection control policies
