PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work 3x12 shifts rotating between day (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) hours, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday rotation is required.

Your Role

• Provide direct patient care on an 8-bed unit with a 1:4 patient ratio and 2 RNs per shift
• Care for observation unit patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-operative, urology, and GI diagnoses
• Administer and manage drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Read and interpret EKG strips; you will be required to take an EKG exam during compliance
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Manage high-volume admissions and discharges with average patient stays up to 48 hours

Requirements

• Valid Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS (ARC or AHA)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Background in observation units or step-down Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units
• EPIC charting experience required

• Weekly pay: $2,402.64
• Must reside outside 50 miles from facility
• Any color scrubs permitted
