Registered Nurse - PCU Float @ Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - PCU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM<br>• Must be comfortable working ALL PCU and MS units as a float nurse<br>• Patient ratios: PCU average 5:1, MS average 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)<br>• Staffing needs re-evaluated every 4 hours - may float 2-3 times per shift<br>• Weekend requirement: Either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block<br>• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS<br>• EPIC charting experience required<br>• 24 hours of orientation provided<br>• Must have 2 years of nursing experience<br>• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration required<br>• Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes<br>• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, titrating cardiac drips<br>• Capable of managing PCA and heparin protocols, administering IV insulin<br>• Background in telemetry and stepdown-level care with cardiovascular experience preferred<br>• Must be comfortable responding to emergencies via Rapid Response/Code teams<br>• Pre/post cardiac cath experience preferred<br>• Care for adult and geriatric patients<br>• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This facility is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and flagship medical center that serves as the region&#39;s only Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients.
