PCU Registered Nurse Job in Greensboro, NC

Cone Health - The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026, offering 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with every other weekend required and holidays as needed.

Compensation and Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,099.52
• 3x12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Floating to other units required

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• First-time travelers welcome
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must pass a pass/fail EKG exam

Patient Care Details

You will care for adult and geriatric patients with a 5:1 patient ratio. The PCU focuses primarily on cardiac patients, including those with congestive heart failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias. Secondary focus includes respiratory conditions such as COPD and pneumonia.

Required Clinical Skills

• BiPAP/CPAP management and high-flow nasal cannula
• Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line care and management
• CVP monitoring and cardiac drip titration
• Feeding tube care and management
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis care
• Renal failure management
• TR Band management
• Starting and maintaining IVs

Support Services Available

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
