About this role
You will provide wound care nursing for adult patients at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. This is a day shift position with two assigned treatment rooms where you will manage comprehensive wound care for a diverse patient population.
Position Details
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Weekly pay: $2,678.40
- Assignment length: 91 days
- Start date: July 27, 2026
Clinical Requirements
- Current Alaska nursing license (compact license accepted at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- ACLS certification required
- WOCN certification required
- WCC certification preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
Core Competencies
You will perform mechanical and sharp debridement, apply wound vac therapy, and work with alginates, autolytic and enzymatic debriding agents, hydrocolloids, and hydrogels. Additional skills include burns care (1st–4th degree), cellulitis management, ostomy and G-tube/J-tube care, edema management, peripheral arterial ulcer management, infection control, and patient and family education.
Work Environment
You will use the Pyxis medication system and Cerner documentation platform. Epic charting experience is preferred. Navy blue scrubs are required. The facility provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
You will collaborate with an interprofessional team to deliver evidence-based wound care and support patients throughout their treatment and recovery.
