Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

You will join the 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit at McLaren Northern Michigan as a Registered Nurse working nights. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 4, 2026, with a schedule of 3x12-hour night shifts and every other weekend off. You will earn $2,047.68 weekly.

Your Role:

You will care for patients across general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, and trauma cases. You will function as part of the hospital's stroke unit and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized patient care plans. Your focus will be on patient-centered care emphasizing safety and quality outcomes, utilizing clinical pathways and patient education to support recovery.

Requirements:

• Current Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• 2+ years of straight medical surgical experience (no float or SDU/TELE experience)
• Level II or I trauma level experience
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application
• Travel experience preferred

What We Expect:

You will maintain a strict attendance policy. No on-call responsibilities. There are no exceptions for absences or arriving more than 20 minutes late—three strikes result in immediate termination. You must demonstrate clinical expertise, leadership, effective communication, and strong time management skills while working as part of a collaborative care team.
