PACU Registered Nurse Job in Midland, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the 21-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital, recovering patients across a wide range of surgical specialties and age groups from 8 months to 100+ years.

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (5x8)
• Call required: 6–8 days per month, self-scheduled
• Minimum one weekend shift per contract
• Weekly pay: $2,448
• Contract duration: 91 days
• Start date: July 20, 2026

Your Role

You'll manage a 2:1 patient ratio during day shifts, recovering patients from orthopedic, general, neurological, urological, gynecological, and pediatric procedures including ENT, dental, and bone marrow transplant cases. You'll monitor patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, and intubation, providing care to adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients. As needed, you'll assist with coverage in the connected Pre-Op/Pre-Op Holding area, floating between both spaces.

What We're Looking For

• Valid RN license
• Travel experience required
• 2 years of PACU experience preferred
• Strong pediatric patient experience, including ENT, dental, and ortho
• Critical care experience strongly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale

About the Unit

You'll work in a high-volume PACU with heavy ortho, general, GYN, neuro, and urology cases, supported by respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and interpretation services. Daily census averages 30 patients across the 21-bed unit.
