Medical Lab Technician Job in Bethel, AK

You will work as a Medical Laboratory Technician at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska. This is a travel position lasting 182 days, starting October 5, 2026.

Your Role

• Perform laboratory tests and quality control procedures under the direction of the laboratory manager
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding laboratory results
• Work independently and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
• Operate clinical laboratory instrumentation as a laboratory generalist

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field
• One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in microbiology
• Board eligible by NCA or ASCP; you must complete board certification within one year
• Certification as MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) required within one year

Schedule and Pay

You will work a 5x8 rotating shift with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Note that first week hours may vary due to orientation. You will earn $85 per hour (bill rate), with weekly pay of $2,501.
