Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work as an RN on the Med Surg unit at Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis, providing direct patient care on the night shift. This is a 13-week travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts running 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

What You'll Do

• Care for Med Surg patients recovering from trauma, surgical interventions, and those with medical comorbidities
• Assess patients, plan and implement care, and evaluate outcomes using the nursing process
• Manage patient care with typical ratios of 1:6-7 on night shifts
• Coordinate care with ancillary departments to support patient recovery
• Operate equipment including Nova Meters, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, and SCD machines
• Document in the EPIC EMR system
• Work every other weekend as needed; no on-call requirements

Schedule & Pay

You'll receive 36 or 48 weekly guaranteed hours (based on your submission). Weekly pay is $1,971. Night shift orientation takes place during day hours—you must be available the entire first week for training.

What You Need

• Current RN license; eligible for Missouri licensure or currently licensed in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year Med Surg inpatient experience
• BLS from AHA (required); ACLS from AHA (preferred)
• Black scrubs required; no open-toed shoes

Physical Demands

You'll stand and walk most of your shift, lift and turn patients with assistance, and push or pull up to 50 lbs. You may be floated to other units depending on staffing needs. You'll work with a diverse patient population and be a committed team player.
