RN (Registered Nurse)

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 PM
• Weekend requirements: must work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday all considered weekend shifts)
• Patient ratios typically 1:5, goal is 1:4, occasionally could be 1:6
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Floating required as needed to Telemetry or Medical/Surgical units with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Electronic medical record: EPIC
• Telemetry monitoring: Nihon Kohden
• Two-day orientation: first day includes 4 hours with HR and 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor
• Strict attendance policy: zero tolerance for tardies and call-offs, 2 occurrences result in termination
• 2 shifts cancellation allowed per 13-week contract
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients
