Job Details:

• Confirm physician orders, assess for appropriateness, and ensure quality patient care
• Notify physician, nurse, and/or other hospital staff of any unusual patient reactions observed during performance of duties
• Assess, evaluate, document in medical record, and monitor patient tolerance and response to therapy and treatment
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and address any concerns or questions
• Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures per department policy or protocol
• Respond to emergencies and participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Set up and maintain all equipment and administer medical gases and medications
• Assist with stocking of supplies and drugs and complete appropriate billing information for completed services
• Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement programs
• Provide input into policies and procedures development to positively impact outcomes and delivery cost
• Participate in educational activities presented to patients, families, students, and other healthcare professionals
• Attend in-services, meetings, and conferences to keep current on new techniques, equipment, and procedures
• Work in an all-adult, acute care, Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Primary devices include: PB 980 (ventilator), PB 840 (ventilator), V60 (noninvasive ventilator), Epoc (handheld analyzer), and ParaPac Plus (transport ventilator)
• Must have 2+ years of recent experience
• RRT required; CRT candidates who are Registry Eligible with appropriate experience may be considered
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed
