Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician / Radiology

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with a 5x8 schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• On-call requirement: one night per week and one weekend per month; call hours are 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM Monday through Friday and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday
• Daily caseload of 15 to 18 patients across 4 rooms and PET/CT
• Treat patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Perform general nuclear medicine studies including bone, renal, gastric emptying, GI bleeds, HIDAs, thyroid uptake/scan, parathyroids, VQ perfusions, cardiac, and EPT/CT
• Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment
• Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists
• Proficiency required in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and PACS
• Nuclear medicine procedure experience required: cardiac, bone scan, brain scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, and myocardial
• Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Med Tech experience required; independent work is required and proficiency is expected
• Seasoned travelers preferred; first-time travelers with significant experience will be considered
• Required certifications: BLS, NMTCB; ARRT preferred
• Active Virginia nursing license required at time of submission
• Epic charting system experience required; must attend Epic orientation class
