Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Rotate between acute and long-term care (LTC) settings for 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend
• Night call required approximately 1 every other week
• Every other weekend coverage required with at least 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio experience required: 1:20
• Candidates must float between units
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• New York state license required prior to submission
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Scrubs: Any shade of gray or gray/black combination
• Required certifications: BLS, RRT, ACLS
• Work settings: Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department required
• Treat patients across all age groups including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
• Perform ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
• Operate special equipment including Hamilton Vent, Servo-U Vent, NKV330 (NIV Device), AIRVO2, Dream Machines, and V30s
• Airway management skills required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning
• Nebulizer experience required: hand held, T-piece, and trach collar
• Oxygen therapy experience required: bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), T-piece, and trach collar
• Ventilator management skills required: BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
