Histology Tech - Histology Tech

Job Details:

• Work overnight shifts Monday through Friday from 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM
• Some day shift hours required at the beginning for orientation
• Handle high volume embedding and microtomy (100+ blocks per night)
• Process all specimen/tissue types from tiny biopsies to large resections
• Use manual rotary Leica microtomes
• Work in an academic medical center pathology laboratory
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and Certified Histotechnician (HT) via ASCP
• HTL(ASCP) certification also acceptable
• Previous experience in histology/pathology lab required
• Experience with Cerner LIS and/or Roche Ventana systems including Vantage/Navify tracking preferred
• EPIC charting system utilized
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
