Respiratory Therapist Job in Loxahatchee, FL

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel position in our 12-bed respiratory unit. You'll work a day shift schedule of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week, with a contract duration of 91 days beginning January 19, 2026.

Position Requirements

• Current RRT certification (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital RRT experience
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• ICU experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

Your Role

You will provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema. On day shifts, you'll work alongside a director, lead RRT, and 2-3 additional RRTs. Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 2:1, depending on acuity and patient volume.

Daily Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment including oxygen cylinders and concentrators, nebulizers, suction machines, CPAP and BIPAP machines
• Document patient care using the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Apply critical thinking to deliver evidence-based patient care in a fast-paced environment
• Function as an engaged team member in an active, protocol-driven setting

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,576.80
